一、Position

As a filtering component of the water purifier, the post activated carbon is generally located behind the filter element assembly of the main engine, so it is called the post activated carbon filter element.

The raw water flows through the filter element assembly of the host to the water storage tank, and the water from the water storage tank flows through the rear activated carbon filter element to the faucet.

二、Effect

Due to the high precision of RO membrane, great filtering resistance and slow water making speed, only slowly purified water can be stored in a pressure water storage tank.

A rubber air bag is placed in the pressure tank to release the water pressure through the pressure between the water storage air bag and the tank body. In this case, the purified water will have a little rubber smell after contacting the rubber for a long time, which has a certain impact on the taste.

In order to prevent and eliminate this peculiar smell caused by rubber, engineers have equipped a post activated carbon behind the water storage tank, which is its role.

三、Replacement cycle

After knowing the function of post activated carbon, it is easier to judge its replacement cycle.

My suggestion is

1、Using the comparison method

As the pre activated carbon bears the role of adsorbing other pollutants in the water, including residual chlorine, the filter element cycle is generally only about 6-12 months. The post activated carbon has much less pollutants to intercept than the front activated carbon, so the replacement cycle is longer than the pre activated carbon. If the replacement cycle of the pre activated carbon is 12 months, it is recommended that the replacement cycle of the post activated carbon be 2-3 times of 12 months.

2、Taste sense method

After using the water purifier for a period of time, if you feel that the taste has a little smell, it is recommended to replace the rear activated carbon immediately. If you don't feel any peculiar smell all the time, it is recommended that the replacement cycle should not exceed 48 months.

3、Special circumstances

If the whole machine is cleaned, sterilized or the water storage tank needs to be replaced, it is recommended to replace the rear activated carbon filter element at the same time.
